The ASO plays this every year on the Fourth of July, a piece of music that has absolutely nothing to do with the United States. Of course, it’s all about the cannons. We played this a few years ago in my former orchestra in Abilene, and we had a couple of guys from Dyess AFB  backstage with shotguns firing blanks.
